As your guide, I want you to know that on this walk through Amman, you’re not just seeing the city ,you’re living its stories with me. We’ll wander through bustling markets, taste the treats I grew up loving, and share coffee at Zheman, where generations have gathered before us. Along the way, I’ll tell you the stories behind the places and flavors, making sure you truly feel the warmth and spirit of Jordanian life. By the end, you won’t just have visited Downtown Amman—you’ll have experienced it as one of us.
What to Expect
Let’s begin at the heart of Downtown—where every corner has a story, and every market pulses with life. First, we’ll wander into Al-Bukhari Market, where traders greet neighbors by name and the scent of fresh spices fills the air. I’ll introduce you to old friends, let you taste just-picked fruit at the bustling vegetable market, and share a laugh with the tailors—these craftspeople are the storytellers of our city.
We’ll savor baklava together, the kind only found in Amman, layered with memories of childhood and celebration. I’d love for you to try kunafa, warm and sweet, and let me show you how each bite connects us to Arab traditions stretching back generations.
Let’s pause at Zheman Coffee House—the oldest in Jordan, where my father used to bring me as a boy. Here, the smell of cardamom blends with stories from decades past. I’ll share a cup of Arabic coffee with you, explain our customs, and show you how this humble cafe helped shape the city’s hospitality.
As we stroll through the Old Souq, Nada Market, and Sugar Market, I want you to see Amman not just as a visitor, but through my eyes. This city is a tapestry—woven from memories, flavors, and friendships.
Whether you are curious, hungry for history, or simply want to experience Amman’s heartbeat, you are family today. Ask me anything, taste everything, and let’s discover the magic that lives in these streets together.
