8:00 AM–10:00 AM (approx.): Guided tour of Abu Simbel
Abu Simbel Temples: These twin rock temples were carved in the 13th century BCE under Pharaoh Ramses II. The Great Temple honors Ramses himself, while the smaller one is dedicated to Queen Nefertari. The entire complex was famously relocated in the 1960s to save it from rising waters after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
